Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Ooops I did it again :D

My 10k time was old compared to the other distances. A programmed 10k piece with a rate cap of 20 and HR cap of 80% led to a slightly better time, now 45:26.0 it was 46+. This can be better with a more deliberate effort, but I'm happy to claim that PB :D

Re: Queensland Indoor Rowing Championships

Well the State Championships are done. I'm glad I got to compete at the NSW indoor series (zoomed in from Brisbane to Sydney) so I knew what the whole procedure was. NSW indoor series had 2 rounds and then their State Champs which unfortunately were on the same day as the Qld champs. With no competi...

Re: October ctc - 30 mins., standing start, unrestricted

First, thank you Jon for your kind words in the September CTC thread. All my blood and sweat - no tears yet - have to be doing something. Blood in the home gym scraping the bar on my shins for which I am told is a good thing. My best 30 min is 7201 but I had programmed a 30 min piece this morn...

Re: September ctc - 5k, standing start, unrestricted

Finally got this done. A sub par effort but nursing a quad issue a little. Only let's me know it is still there when I really start to push. 8 months ago a sub 22 was amazing, now I sit down and know its well inside capability :) Finished with 21.30.2. Well done to all the fantastic efforts this mon...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Thank you everyone. Remember it can't hurt anymore than the last 2k and you didn't die then either. I haven't forgotten the CTC :), I tend to do it late in the month :) Next race day is our State Champs on 11 October - not planning anything too great for that as I'm in all 3 events 2000, 1000 and 50...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Comment from previous post - I don't think the next race day in September will provide such huge PB's but I'll be trying. September race day, done and dusted. Improved my 2000m result this time round and took the "unofficial" Australian record for 55-59 HWt women. We had both beaten the official rec...

Re: fall challenge - reminder

Lucky I saw this thread. I hadn't realised I had to actually push 'join the challenge" . Hopefully the usual meters added across a month, around 250,000 to 350,000.

Cheers, Lesley

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

FYI - I'm in the Australian womens 50-59 HWt group. Australian records are now 10 year groups except for the 2k which is still 5 year. Conceptau only just strated having official records for events other than 100, 500, 1000, 2000, but they did go through old data and anything verified was counted. M...

Re: July ctc - 2112m

Done, just scraped through the 2k under 8min (7.59.7). Happy with that go even though HR said there was more, the legs said no. Not my best 2k by quite a few seconds but since there has been no rest days leading in, it's good.

Overall 8.26.2

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

Please sir can I have a plain star for my 4 million life time row meters. Had to separate the ski meters these days. I was busy with a HM this morning and the 4mill slipped past.

Jill you are far too generous. I note quite a few gentlemen have improved scores so far this season. With more to come I'm sure. Still quite a ways from the million this season.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Chalk up another one. The rather soft 30 min from last season was ushered out of the way with a 400+m improvement during a planned rate and HR capped session. Capped at 24 s/m and 80% max HR the 30 min is now at 6855m (2.11.2 pace av). Still some more distance to be had in this 30min but that is for...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Not to be outdone by all you gentlemen crushing PB's I have managed 2 more. A 4 min distance up from 1000 to 1020m, amazing how so much extra effort adds up to so few extra meters over just 4 mins. :D My Sunday morning long session took exactly 1 min of my HM time set with the last crazybear HM last...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Congratulations Colin on the FM PB. That hurts just looking at that result. Well done!

Improved my 6k time over the weekend. Chopped 2 min+ of last seasons best so pretty happy with that, slipped under the 26min 25:49.9. Now to update the signature for this season :)

Re: JUNE CTC - Free Spirits to choose

I agree with Tako
The first proposal I find a bit long, so what about
7min-5min-3min-1min with 90sec rest?
I prefer the 90s rest and happy to add 9 min up front as well if it isn't too long - A quick poll required perhaps as per Liefcat suggestion ?

Last Season I wrote Still amazes me what other free spirits achieve. At least I am achieving more physically than I was in the last 5 years of post grad study with no exercise. After 9 weeks with the physio I am now down to monthly visits and free to erg as I like since it doesnt cause any flare ups...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Thank you everyone. Your support is much appreciated. Plummy is correct, someone went faster just the day before but since neither were in public, or in a race I am not sure concept2AU will recognise them anyway. They only hold Australian records for 4 events and it seems there are rules for getting...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

As the last piece in the online Row battles comp, a 2k. Points for fastest overall and fastest 3rd 500. I dismissed the 3rd 500 time and just wanted to finally see a sub 8min 2k. Achieved, absolutely stoked with this result. A massive 21.5s improvement. My first sub 8. Onwards to who knows where sin...

This sounds absolutely joyful! All the odds together. Can I suggest the rest be 1.30, 1 just isn't enough but 2 might be too much.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

An unlooked for improvement, nice way to PB. If I had realised I was close, I would have made it better but planned session was capped at 24sr and 80% HR. Added another 200m to my 60 min. I'm mostly liking the ergzone app :D , not sure about the death defying online comp though. Great if you do any ...

Please kind sir can I have a plain star for hitting the 3 million lifetime. I thought I still had 50,000 odd to go not 5000 odd. Otherwise I would have rowed it to be exact.

Re: April Fools' Day Challenge

It appears you dont have to sign up for April Fools Day challenge, just log your metres as required. (unless I missed it) Total metres for the day as well so if you get really bored in lockdown just row between binge watching netflix series.

Hope you feel better soon Jon
