Re: November CTC: 4 x 250m / 3 min rest

Well done all! Some great times already especially those who have done sub 3 mins =D> =D> ^O^ ^O^ Didn't really know how to pace this but noted an earlier comment on here about aiming for an average around your 500m pb but I got a little carried away on the first two then suffered badly on the last ...

As a newish team member I think it's a great idea and seems a pretty fair scoring system to me Rodger. :)

Missed the last 2 ctc's due to being away so I'm glad to be back contributing.

Never done a 1k sprint before but based on my 2k pb was hoping for around 3:30ish so very pleased with a time of 3:31.9 :D Extreme Leg burn for the last 150 though!

Thanks Zoot. I had my eyes closed and counting at the end and mistimed the end finishing 10 secs too early #-o so think I've got a bit more in me.

Well done Jainser! Great 6k =D>

Just about a new 30 minute PB today. Previous best was 7203.

A little surprising as I did it before breakfast and with only a 2 minute warm up! :o Realised half way through a PB was on the cards so went for it! :D

Think I must have programmed it wrong! Those 1 minute rests couldn't have been a whole 1 minute

Found the 600 the hardest and very nearly reached for the bucket after the 400 but I guess I 'enjoyed' the last 3! :?

Thank you Zoot. All sorted now.

Re: May CTC: 5555m

Thanks but it's not a PB.

I Meant to say my current 5k best averaged at 2:03.6/500m last year so I was pretty pleased to get very near that rate with the 5555m. As I only started rowing last year I'm hoping to maybe beat a few PB's this year! [-o<

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Hi Richard I did my first and currently only HM in Jan this year. I agree with all that's been said already. Start off very steady with a low SR and build it up if you feel comfortable. Your times are currently very similar to mine and I averaged a 2.21 pace so I don't think Colin is too far off wit...

Jeez!!! That's just shown up my rowing naivety #-o . Decided on the 'fly or die' option and went off far too quick!! First 520 mtrs at approx 1.34 pace (quicker than my current 500 so I knew then I'd probably messed it up!) giving me a finish time of 2.00 mins, then I literally died the last 90 mtrs...
