Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

I didn't want to post here until i'll reach another milestone, but well... Few weeks ago I tried to do 2K and failed  . I handled down 3 hundred something meters to finish, and it felt awful. Well, rowing with a hangover is never a good idea, and attempting 2K PB with hangover - just doesn't w...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

I guess I'm done with rowing for the calendar year :D Wrong! I figured this holiday break is a good chance to do FM. So I did, yesterday. It was horrible. Well, I guess FM is supposed to be horrible - so that's all right. I took 2:15 as a pace from the start, and giving my lack of technique I went ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

And - another milestone, HM under 90 minutes  1:28:37.1 , average pace 2:06.0 , 2 minutes 5 seconds improvement. I tried to stay just under 2:08 to finish in less than 90 minutes, and started to push a little when I had 7K left. And then I saw an opportunity to get under 89 minutes - and pu...

Re: Holiday Challenge from C2

My son made past his 50K mark today, so he earns his first holiday challenge pin from C2

I will need a couple more sessions to do 200K. It definitively goes easier this year :)

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Wow, a lot of updates!

Very impressive results, folks.

I will add my humble PB here.
10K, 39:43.8, 1:59.1 average pace. 30 seconds improvement. I gather it has something to do with rowing without hangover; probably I should try it more often

So 10K under 40 - done :D

Re: Quote

I must admit that my "favourite" quote/description of a 2k race comes from Lewin Hynes and can be found on the C2 forum http://concept2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21544 though I've copied it here. Just reading it again brings it all back  Wow. But now I think I don't row h...

Re: Meter board banter

There hasn't been the usual holiday challenge "thermometer" showing your challenge total until today. Maybe our meter board issue is somehow connected to this. I'm sure JL will sort it out quickly :fswink: If you are referring to the thermometer on the C2 website, then I believe it shows ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Did 5K today. My previous 5K race was in September, and the result was 19:45.0 with the average pace 1:58.5. My usual approach is to take the previous race pace and start with it, and then make a sprint in the last part (2K, 1K or whatever – depending on the distance). But this time I thought, that ...

Re: Issue Tracking for the 2012 update

The new site looks great, I love it!

Just two small issues. Links to forum boards do not work from the Meterboard page (extra data on the screenshot :D )

And HR bands calculator does not work anymore - I tried in IE 8 and Chrome.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Did 10K today, as I planned a while ago. It did not go as well as I hopped though. The thing is, I had some pretty tough week at work and decided to get a few pints yesterday. Well, not a big surprise here  . But it’s either me getting old or this rowing thing reduced my body weight a bit –...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan

Tried L4 workouts couple of times by now. Both times - 16 and 18 spm. It's reeeealy hard for me to row with such a low rate without pausing at the finish. I can do 18, but 16 - no sir. All in all I had about 50-60 seconds out of 2 mins with the correct spm, and about 15 seconds with the correct pace...

Was your breathing different when on antihistamines :?: It's actually a good question. Maybe it's more about bad influence of hay fever than god influence of antihistamines. I thought that my comparatively low heart rate during last few weeks shows higher fitness level, but maybe it’s just that not...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan

Thanks davejm, billwright, and strider77! It does make more sense now. I'll start with the low rates and then I'll get it from there. Regarding your pace you need to know your 2k pace-if it is for example 7 mins, which is 1:45 pace-go to the Table 2: Level 4 Pace Chart and find 1:45 pace and look al...
