Re: Heart Rate Training and Bands

I am testing a solution right now. If all works out fine you can consider this solved in a few days

Re: Heart Rate Training and Bands

Hi, Sander checking in. The Rowsandall guy. Very happy to see users of my site sharing charts here. Confirming the auto import algorithm is just checking for new workout IDs on the the first "page" of the Concept2 logbook. If you don't want the deleted workouts to reappear, I would need to keep a lo...

Call for Rowing Teams for Data Analytics

As a member of the Free Spirits I want to offer this one to the team. At Rowsandall.com we are adding support for teams and coaches. Rowsandall.com provides a rich set of tools to analyze data from training sessions, both on the water, and on ergs. The new support will allow coaches to view, analyze...

On RowingChat

All, Just wanted to mention that I will be on RowPerfect's RowingChat. Coming Sunday 8pm UK time, or you can download the podcast afterwards: https://www.rowperfect.co.uk/rowingchat/ The topic will be Data Analytics and Rowing, an area where Free Spirits Greg Smith and myself dove in quite deeply in...

I rowed this really slowly as my cooling down. The training schedule gave me no other choice. But I did participate!

Re: Marathon Training.

Definitely you need to prepare for the open (salt) water and OTW related stuff. Blisters. Food. Navigation. Communication. Support team on the ground.
Special preparation for your boat, perhaps. I have only done the Elfstedentocht which is on lakes but we did prepare our boats for chop, etc.

Somebody "lulunac27" has put a weird result in as a Free Spirits Member. I am going to inform the CTC admins over on the Concept2 forum.

Re: The January CTC will be our choice

I like the 4x4x4 thing. If we go for a ranking distance I would vote for the 30 min but any other one would be ok too. I also have difficulty squeezing in the ranking distances and CTC with the normal training sessions.

Re: Crazy Bear Challenge-Row 30 HMs in 45 days

You are really a bunch of Crazy (Polar) Bears. It's fun to read this. I know there is a HM and FM erg race somewhere in the South of the Netherlands if anyone is interested. At least there used to be one.

Need Data Analysis / something better than C2 logbook?

Free Spirits Friends, In the past few months I have been developing this site http://rowsandall.com/ , mainly for fun and for lack of a good Rowing Data Analysis site. Please feel free to try out. Registration for basic functionality is free. What is it? Rowsandall.com is an online tool for indoor a...

Here is my take on it:
http://blog.rowsandall.com/2016/11/04/t ... onranking/

A 3:21.4 was the result. I guess I have to update my SB score in the signature.

Re: October CTC: 10k unrestricted

Managed a 38:09.1, which I consider pretty good, looking at a PB of 37:45.4. The hardest part was rowing down from 7km to go to 3km to go. After that I dared to speed up. Full story here: http://blog.rowsandall.com/2016/10/19/october-ctc-a-seasons-best-by-default/ I am surprised to find myself in Fr...

Thanks for the nice words. I am lucky to live in a part of the world with a lot of Worlds Masters. Poznan, Duisburg, Hazewinkel, Vienna, Varese all were within 1000km of driving. And Bled will be even closer.

Re: The January CTC will be our choice

My personal criteria for a good challenge are: 1. It doubles as a good workout. 2. Simple to program on the PM - no fancy stuff 3. Don't like rate restricted or other gimmicks 4. I like pacing challenges, i.e. intervals where you have to record the slowest one 5. Intervals are not very suitable for ...

2) I know what you mean, the general impression I get is that it's quite hard to simply summarise what's going on in the muscles during excercise - certainly there is the aspect of getting the body to use fats as a fuel and I think that's one aspect, however like you say that's less part of the rac...

Re: Lactate based training

Interesting discussion and thanks for resurrecting it. I am scheduled to do a "2 speed lactate test" tomorrow. In the past year I have been going quite along the lines of what Olbrecht writes in his book "The Science of Winning", but trying to tweak it to rowing and the distances we normally do. I d...
