Re: Name that tune

I was going to wish everyone "a Pleasant saturday and Sunday", but there have been hundreds of views of this thread, so it appears unlikely that anyone is going to get Another Pleasant Valley Sunday . ](*,) Therefore, before we go spend the weekend on the Lake, here is my next attempt to get a song ...

Re: Name that tune

Hi Jill. You have the band correct. Unfortunately, neither of the two songs you mentioned, or "Here Come The Monkees", which I think is the title of the theme song, contain a single word of our mystery song.

I am not going to quibble with your quibble, but I believe Stevie Nicks has also recorded the song on her own album.

Thanks for the smile, Ron. Not that surprising you do not remember the song, since it was about 10 years before you were born!

Good luck with your next choice.

It appears that no one here has heard No Chemise, Please. Oh well.

This one I am sure someone will (eventually, perhaps) recognize.

Re: Name that tune

As Ron has noted, I do not like letting this thread lay dormant for more than 2 or 3 days. Unlike the Name That Film thread that has not had a post in 28 days. So, as promised, here is the entire chorus: "No chemise, please, not for me, please Well you can take back the sack, leave it hangin' on the...

Re: Name that tune

I said that this was from my formative years. Upon further reflection, I am not sure how much I knew (or know) about women's fashions. Maybe my knowledge started and ended in 1959? Part of the chorus, more of the chorus on Wednesday unless someone rescues me before then. "Well you can take back the ...

Re: Name that tune

Thanks Wolfie. I tried to search now, but apparently the words in the title are too common to search for. #-o So, we will assume that this was the first time for that tune. 8) Next, something from my "formative years", i.e., old ! Re: Name that tune

I think we may have had this recently, but I did not check. In any event, it sounds like "25 or 6 to 4". Ron, I do not think you should consider it the Americans' fault when we do not understand what the Brits are talking about. And, it is still much easier when they are writing rather tha...

Paul Victory posted an easy song, on the thread he originally started, and no one wants to name it. I gave everyone a fair chance.

Paul, yes twice. Correct title and originally by The Animals.

Never having heard of Santa Esmeralda, I just listened for a bit. Not horrible, but I am amazed you could recognize the lyrics from the video version I saw!

Enjoy your cruise. We have a few in the future, but you would not consider them "ships"; no merry-go-rounds, no horse riding rinks, no mountain climbing.

Re: Name that tune

Wow! In an instant I knew the song and the name (to paraphrase). Mostly. #-o

I think "no more love on the run" is part of the lyrics, rather than the title, which I think is Caribbean Queen.

Was it by Billy Idol?
