Given that it’s Remembrance Day, I did four consecutive pieces of 1914m, 1918m, 1939m and 1945m.

Re: Dog Days of Summer
thanks Jon, meaning we will lose the badge if we don't complete the 4 weeks? Correct. If you miss a target you drop off the Concept2 honour board for the challenge and your prancing dog will be no more.......in theory 🙏🏻 It’s all about motivation, and Jon’s system encourages you to push yourself ha...

Superb piece of work Jon... I liked your response before you edited it  If you want to do something about your score colouring, can I suggest the Premium version, available at a small monthly cost, where your scores are guaranteed to look far better. Money back guaranteed if you are not co...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
That’s a strong start to the season Dave. A 2 million season on the cards maybe? Thanks Jon. Currently on course for 3 million as we speak, but the figures are skewed due to Covid. It’s only so high now as, like many people, I have only left the house a handful of times since lockdown. Rowing, and ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
I think I can claim this as a PB.
My record metres for a season thus far was just over 598k in 2011/2012.
After this afternoon’s effort, my 2020/2021 total is now over 600k, with less than 20% of the season gone so far.
Quite pleased with that...

Re: 2020 weight loss thread
Nice work Paul. I weighed myself this evening and came up with 216.4 lb (97.25 kg) but that was just after rowing 15 km in 86 deg weather, so I’m not counting it. I’ll weigh in again on Tuesday or Wednesday morning and see where I am then. Daily weighing. The rules: (1) First thing in a morning. (2...

Thanks to you and Boris for sorting this. Very much appreciated. I will gladly make a donation in the n...

Re: Nonathlon 2021
Genuine question. Clarification requested. Talk to me about interpolation. I’m confused. If people take actual intermediate metre readings at actual intermediate times within a piece, then this is not what i would consider interpolation. Rather it’s an intermediate split. Happy with that. Are we tho...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
I have found that the best way to improve your technique is to row strapless - the only time I ever strap in is for a TT, and I find I can go up to 28/29 spm quite comfortably while rowing strapless. As far as df goes, I believe in setting the level wherever you feel best. Most of the people on the...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
At that rate, there is absolutely nowhere to hide in terms of technique Unfortunately there are other errors that creep in... My self appraisal as a rank amateur takes that well and truly into account Iain, I can assure you... I wasn’t for a moment suggesting that rowing at a slower rate aut...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
As a rank amateur in this game, dropping my stroke rate to 20 rpm or thereabouts in recent weeks has given a different dimension to my erging. At that rate, there is absolutely nowhere to hide in terms of technique. Even I can see that mine has come on in leaps and bounds. I was inspired by watchin...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
I had an early morning crack at the HM today to bag the Summer Solstice challenge at the same time. A friend offered to row with me, so we had the slightly odd, but ultimately enjoyable experience of rowing together over video. I would recommend this if you get a chance. He is a very strong rower a...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Not to be outdone by all you gentlemen crushing PB's I have managed 2 more. A 4 min distance up from 1000 to 1020m, amazing how so much extra effort adds up to so few extra meters over just 4 mins. :D My Sunday morning long session took exactly 1 min of my HM time set with the last crazybear HM las...

Re: Summer Solstice Challenge
I'm slightly confused. Is it on the 20th or 21st? You’re right to be confused Paul. The challenge is in the 20th even though the Solstice is on the 21st 🤷🏼 Fortunately, my son is currently studying for his A Levels, and has kindly advised me as follows: In any given year, the June solstice occurs a...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Well it’s a few years since I wrote anything other than congratulations to others on this page. I set out to do a steady 30mins R18 row today but after 3k boredom set in and a little voice convinced me that having a bash at the Nonathlon 1k was a far better idea. So I bashed one out. https://upload...
