Re: Targets for both end of this season and for next

2014 season goals: 1. Get below 200 lbs and stay below the remainder of the season. 2. Continue rowing steady 4-5 times a week at ~10k per day. 3. Continue doing my core workouts before rowing; i.e., Yogi stretches and ball work. 4. Make 10 million meters before Christmas 2013, should not be a probl...

Re: Heart Monitors

If you have a pm4 the best alternative is to purchase the Sunnto memory belt. This is much more reliable than the comfort belt type straps. You really don't need a watch if you have the memory belt and the pm4.

There are lots of "super" men and women around here and lots of nearer normal people as well. So enjoy everyone great and slow like me, keep rowing.

I just noticed this myself...It is not just you. The forum dropdown links seem to be broken. The only way for me to get to the forum is via my original bookmark now. Well I spoke to soon...as soon as I posted this I click again and they work..Oh Well...the cache is a problem sometimes.

Re: Future direction of web site - updated Oct 9th 2012

I find it interesting that there are two polls (one for each site) one with one vote and the other with several. This suggests that the real answer is that most do not even know about a second site, I didn't.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Very well done, Steve! I thought you weren't rowing much lately... but you must be doing something to keep fit, otherwise you wouldn't have had a PB. =D> Paul - Congratulations on the 25k PB! What sort of a HR were you at? I have not done as much lately but am trying to keep my fitness up and incre...

Re: The KIM (Keep It Moving) Training Thread

Still been doing a few meters here and there. For a couple of weeks I suffered from something going on in the piriformis muscle. Took off about 8 days and got back on last weekend for four days. My day job again has been taking a told on me. I have worked almost very weekend since the second week in...

Re: Armstrong 'stripped' of Tour de France Titles and Banned

Zoot, I agree with you. It seems very strange that America would so badly want to damage one of its greatest national heroes. One has to understand that the USA is in the process of self-destruction; anything considered excellence is being punished today by the powers that be. The culture of depend...

Re: The KIM (Keep It Moving) Training Thread

For myself, all I have been doing is keeping it moving, mostly at a very low level but moving for the past month. I came back from vacation on July 8 to work on the 9th and until this Friday have worked 31 of those 32 days with lots of stress. So doing about 200k over that time to me is what this th...

Re: The KIM (Keep It Moving) Training Thread

5x2k ~2r for me at an average of 2:08.0 This gave me a TE of 3.8. Yesterday was a TE of 4.0 doing a 20 min fast walk on the TM followed by 30 row at 6925 meters. Typically I do either a 2k set of intervals or 10 min sets with a total duration anywhere below 60 minutes of total row time. My goal is f...

Don't see how rate 42-45 is limiting though, 45spm is just about optimal for a flat-out 500m.
