Congrats to Kirby and Ann!!
I hear what you are saying, Kirby --
unfortunately, in some of the race events around the area, they even lump age groups together -- and then give time handicaps based on the age -- it can get really confusing knowing just how fast (or not) you need to row!

Thanks for the direction :)
After reviewing the plan, I have decided on an adaptation which incorporates my strength and core training as well -- some of the intervals will get included in my day three schedule, as I outlined in "What training have you done today"...

Nice row, Plummy! Thanks Thomas, et al for explaining the relay -- it had been unclear from the youtube vid what was happening. Your changeovers were definately better than what I witnessed at Beat the Beast in Vancouver -- One of the relay members actually kept the chain pulling during each changeo...

Maude and I have renewed our training commitments after a brief respite following our 2K race endeavours. Realizing my "strength" in rowing is my upper body strength, as well as a need to improve my climbing ability, we are doing a 3 day program 6 days a week, and resting on the 7th day. D...

What were the rules to this relay? Maude and I were watching this, and wondering a couple things for future thoughts... 1.) Why were the 4 of you doing s o few strokes for each round? 2.) Where were the laybacks??! -- every one of you were practically at a 90 degre angle on each stroe -- no t judgin...

Congratulations Maude. First half marathon is always a great feeling no matter what the time. So whens the full one? Well, that rather depends on my father in law. He's supposed to be training for an OTW marathon with Paul in a double scull at the Louisiana races in November... but given ...

Maude's first half-marathon

Maude did her first half marathon yesterday... and despite the fact that it took her almost 2 hrs (1:57.33.7) she is pretty happy with her first time out. For her, it was simply the act of "doing it" that was important. Now that she knows that she CAN do it, I heard her say today that she'...

lol, Stan and Plummy -
perhaps between the 3 of us we could easily go sub7 - my 3rd quarter is what kills me -- my 1st 1/2 and final 500 are my strong points - can we shuffle the quarters up between us? :?
