Re: July ctc - 2112m

Welcome back Stan. Good to see you and Paul back rowing again. I just got back to the row erg myself last week after 6 or 7 weeks off with an injury that wouldn't allow me to compress to the catch position. Was targeting 1:50 on this with some thought a 1:49 pace was possible. 500m 1:48.2 / 30 1000m...

Re: May ctc - 1‘, standing start

Didn't sleep very well last night and wasn't feeling good at all when I got up. Thought I might try an easy 30 minutes on the rower to get my blood moving and see if I felt better. No plan at all to attempt the 1 minute ctc. After 30 minutes I put the df up high and did a few hard pulls. It felt pre...

Should be good for participation tho. All you need is access to the rower.

Well done Joe.
A rare 'continual' challenge for me, solely down to lockdown situation. 14k just completed, 1 more to go.
Same with me. I always start these challenges but lose interest half way through. Can't go anywhere this time because of lockdown so erg on it will be :D

Day ten. Row and ski erg combined. Keeps me from crawling up the wall in the age of SARS-CoV-2
Good to hear from you Boris. Made it to day 12 myself. Row and bike erg combined.

I really want to get a ski erg but have run out of space. Need to build a Man Cave

Sorry to hear about your Shingles Jon. Just a lot going around right now.
The April Fools Challenge sounds fun. A good continuation of Mud Season Madness momentum combined with the World Erg challenge

Re: Concept2 World Erg Challenge

Finding much easier to get meters with BikeErg. I have never been a meter muncher on rower but I can sit and pedal all day on BikeErg. Mainly use rower for strength - endurance training and core workouts at high drag.

Thank you for the article Iain. If I am reading it correctly moderate exercise is good. No exercise or extreme exercise is bad.

Re: Covid-19

Michigan goes on lockdown at midnight. Glad I have my c2 rower and BikeErg. The BikeErg has been getting a good workout on Zwift lately.

Lots of strength training on rower at high drag and low rate. Good for build strong core. :)

Had a go today. Haven't done any erg training in the last year so not sure what to expect.

3308m / 1:48.8 Better than expected. Lungs were killing me but everything else felt good. 8)

Not feeling very good today but this was my last chance for a go. Opted for fly n die hoping I wouldn't die. Held steady at 1:42 for 850m but mind, legs and lungs weren't willing to fight out the last 2 minutes. On to next month.

Re: APRIL CTC - single 1500m

Did a 1000m tt last week trying to get a feel for this one. Pace for the 1k was 1:41.9..that predicts a 1500m of 1:44-1:45. I felt that was doable. Plan was to go out semi hard, then steady pace til 500m then empty the tanks. 300m 1:44.3/33 600m 1:45.0/30 900m 1:45.5/31 1200m 1:44.6/31 1500m 1:43.3/...

Had my 3rd go at this. First two were hd, went out at 1:48/31 for the 666's a bit too aggressive. Started slow and just eased into it this time . Used 1:30 rest. 666m 1:55.0 / 26 333m 1:52.0 / 27 666m 1:53.6 / 27 333m 1:51.1 / 27 666m 1:52.9 / 28 333m 1:48.1 / 29 666m 1:50.8 / 28 333m 1:40.1 / 33 14...
