Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Wow. Gone for a couple weeks, (okay, it was a month), and I come back and JR is gone?!? Ack! Very, very sorry to hear this. Carole, you've been a happy, light-hearted face that I could always count on being here. But, you've definitely logged your meters, and then some. Broadening your regimen...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

My meters have gone quiet the last couple weeks. Went on vacation to the mountains, and the day I got back threw my back out. #-o
Looking like hitting 100K for holiday challenge will not happen this year (again). What is it about the holidays that always seems to find me on the DL?

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Sylvia, I'm right there with you girl. Put in my first row for the holiday challenge this morning. I just have to keep telling myself that every session I put in is one more than if I hadn't.

So, just keep it going.

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

No news is good news?

I managed to row a second time this week. (Sad, isn't it? #-o ) Oh well, 2x better than 0x, I always say. :P

Re: bodybuilding kills the rowing bug

Are there any before/after shots? Just reading your leg workout routine, and it sounds cruelly familiar to the kind of thing I and my buddy were doing a year ago. Of course, we were only lifting 3x a week. Cardio all the other days. Beware the year AFTER you stop doing these kinds of workouts... the...

Rower of the Day on C2 is our own...

Re: NEW SEASON WEIGHTLOSS CLUB

JR, Good luck with it all. But then again, it doesn't look like luck to me -- you've been working hard at this, and it shows. Incredible progress and great success!! =D> =D> You are an inspiration. I'm glad to have found this thread this morning, as I've put on 20 lbs in the last year -- most of it ...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Ann, Very sorry to hear about your MIL. That is the hardest thing, bringing untold stress. You did well to have it done in a month. When we went through this 6 years ago, it took much longer and my DH just this week was able to get rid of some of the boxes from the house that have been stored in our...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Hi everyone, So at Ann's urging, I am posting again. Actually posted some meters today. Not many, but some at least. I've been having a very hard time lately. 2008 was a difficult year, and I hope 2009 continues looking up. Hubby had a difficult infection that has taken about a year and a half to re...

Re: WORLD ROWING CHALLENGE (WRC)

And.... drum roll please.... I am number 100.
Woot!!! Probably would have missed this if not for the email reminding me. It'll be good to have this driving me back on to the rower as I've been quite lax lately.

Thanks for the nudge.

Re: 24 hour charity challenge

Guys, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I was up in the dark hours here in the US during the event -- posted a couple of times. (I'm on call this week, and another company's server in the data-center was hacked that night.) It was really good to periodically check on reports of your successes as I wa...

Now you guys are in the home-stretch I think -- it's what, 6:30am there now? Just 5 and a half hours to go! You are almost there. THEN it will be time for "Refreshments" =D> =D>

Re: 24 hour charity challenge

Glad to read your reports! I checked at about 4pm your time, and didn't see anything yet. Figure it's about 2am there now? Sounds like you are all doing well (I have positive vibes for Plummy -- the rest did him well, I'm sure 8) ). Michael, congrats on your 100K PB.  . I don't think many...

Re: The non-competitive-not-training thread

Sounds like I should pull out the old HR monitor. I'd given up on it since it always meant looking at my watch. Maybe I should invest in the HR monitor interface that C2 sells. Anyone have that? Do you have to be wired to the PM3, or is it wireless? I have an old Polar monitor. From the C2 website o...

Those soar throats seem to be going around. Re: 2009 January Virtual Team Challenge

I think sometimes we take the whole history of TC and the January Virtual Team Challenge a little too personally. It's really all about getting folks to row, right? Join a team, any team. Row. Get to experience team camaraderie, even if it is virtual camaraderie. AWOL (that acronym just cracks...

Re: The non-competitive-not-training thread

Today's observation: Remember to breath. I noticed -- and it's something that I knew, but just conveniently forgot -- exhaling on the drive improves your split. For me, inhaling on the recovery pushes my pace higher than I want (cardio has never been my strong point), so I inhale at the catch and at...

Hi JR! Good to see you back here too. Yes, just trying to take it easy, and re-tool things a little for myself. Need to find the joy in working out again. It went away last Spring, and hasn't made an appearance since (having been replaced by massive hours of work). This past week, I've been mostly r...

Re: The non-competitive-not-training thread

ZEN in rowing will come for sure once you do 88.5 km / week! That is the secret sign the visiting aliens left with higher education facilities like UPenn to broadcast, that is a well known fact :D  Too funny. If I get to 88.5km/week, ZEN would not be the way to describe me. DEAD would be more ...

@Jonathan , I'm at home on my model D. I used to workout at the gym too on a model C, but gave up the gym membership this year -- the economy being what it is.
