Re: Name that tune

Maybe I've underestimated this one then. Never a single, but a B side twice. Well known album track and live favourite of my favourite band. Title of an album, but the track didn't appear on the same album! ;-) hey hey hey hey, it was the DNA hey hey hey hey, that made me this way Do you know do you...

Re: Name that tune

My wife Linzi says "Sara's Smile" by Hall and Oates.
Which is a great song, and we saw them last year (very good). Which is why I'm bemused I didn't recognise it and still can't place it. Old brain cells diminishing by the day by the look of it!

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Yes thanks Fred (what happened to Ian, hope he's ok?). Tako I agree with Claudius, you very much earned your place. Hopefully we'll all continue to be healthy and have a go each month. Maybe provide a bit of friendly competition no matter which seat is being fought for, but most importantly just fil...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Just about got this in before the Christmas festivities start (out tonight, tomorrow, Sat & Sun!) Hardly done any long time trials as I'm either doing intervals or steady 10ks. Happy with the way it felt, slight neg split for 18:46.2 @ 1:52.6 / 25 Slightly disappointed with only 888 nonathlon though...

Re: December ctc - 7 x 1 minute / 70“r

Welcome back J :-) Nice to see the back holding up Fred. Had this planned for today, and wanted to make sure I was solid in boat 2 (for now) so aimed for Tako @ 1:39.0. But then I caught Dan's time and wondered if 1:38.5 was possible ... Basically, it all went to plan for a change. All under 1:38.5 ...

That really is the pits by the airline, how do they think moving the actual day would work! Congrats Guy, another podium! James was pretty happy with his 6:35.4 I know he was aiming to beat 6:40, but I genuinely thought he could go under 6:35. Splits suggested he paced it very well and gave it his a...

Re: Trying to refocus

I found it always helped to have a medium/long term goal, and then train for that. So it could be 6 or 12 months away, but you'd set a training plan to fit that time scale. Once the goal is out of the way, pick another one, and so it goes. Examples - row 1M m for the season, race at BRIC, EIRC etc, ...

Nice pacing Max, and good to see you with a score Fred  For some reason I thought Peter had done 24:03, but now I see I was confused with Dave comments about 3 seconds off #-o I set off targeting 24:03! #-o Soon gave up after 2k and settled in to a cruise... Finished at 24:14.5/1:54.5/24. (e...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

That's brilliant my friend =D> =D>
I had a go on Thu with my first 5k of the season. Wanted <19min and was more than happy with a flat paced 18:59.0 @ 1:54.9
So it seems I have the edge in the sprinting/intervals end of things and you still have the cardio superiority :D
