sub 8 for 2500m at j18 would be pretty damn quick! it sounds like a horrible distance to row though, probably more testing than a 2k zach, good luck on getting that qualifying time. im sure you'll go sub 6 at some point, if it's soon enough to get you a free trip, that'd be pretty good! know what yo...

it's not legit no 15 yr old is that fast, and if they were, the first you'd hear about it wouldn't be from him logging it on the C2 standings. just some kid who fancied being first on the page, i imagine i'm rowing with an absolute tank at the moment. one of the quickest j18 in the country and he's ...

not really a pb, but i'm claiming it :D 500m r20 1:38.6 will be trying to improve on that quite regularly as i think it will help with strength endurance. pretty much pulling maximal strokes for 30 odd strokes. good work Interesting row Dave It should definitly help with the strength, I'm not so su...

I think the main point is to have something comparible for later efforts. Just doing one is pretty pointless I suspect. When I do the next one in a couple of months, I will be hoping to see some improvement in my heart rate at those given splits. ah right. can see the use of it for that. apologies ...

nick, are you still doing hard 5ks with the damper set on 10? i wouldn't have thought that would be too good for the back. power strokes would be useful, but doing 5k's worth could lead to loss of form through fatigue, and on that drag, you're asking for a back injury rob, that 4x1k should give you ...

hmmm.... i have to say, it looks a bit pointless, apart from a nice bit of interval training that lulls you into a false sense of security before making you want to die in the last interval...!! as far as giving you your anaerobic threshold, i wouldn't have thought it'd be that accurate. you need la...

stupidly decided to have another bash at a sub-3 1k attempt today. had just eaten and legs were still a bit heavy from the weekend's training, so was never going to happen really. got 400m in with the splits at: 100m 1:29.0 200m 1:28.0 300m 1:28.0 400m 1:29.0 might have another go soon but try to ho...

how does this work?

do you do the steps prescribed then the last 'flat out' one should be the same as your 2k split?

if so, i think id rather just do a 2k, it wouldn't be any harder than a test designed to tire you out to the same level as you would be with 4 minutes to go of a 2k

I was wondering whether your allowed to do a 30 minute time and just clock the time when you pass 6k?? Would this be allowed for the CTC boards? If so i just surprised myself with a 23.08 and set a new pb on 30 minutes by breaking the 7800 meters barrier (7803) in a word.... no  i've had...

Congrates Dave on the 2 PB's . With the r20 60 min did you do the 2K pace bit's at r20 ?, if so they must have been a huge strain, i.e. Maximum power strokes sort of thing nope, unfortunately, i don't think i'd be capable of hitting my 2k pace at r20 in this piece. can just about do it if i take ma...

was doing a training piece where the aim was to sit on 1:58s and then do a minute at 2k pace for the last minute of every 10. just sneaked under my old pb. can definately go quicker if i pace it better. I like the sound of that (& the 100k) - sounds like it's going well for you! yeah, thanks. t...

how about something to get more people interested? i think the highest participation came from 500m unrestricted. 1k unrestricted should also get quite a lot of people doing it. everyone can do 1k, you can get kids doing it, non-rowers, seasoned pros and maybe your pets if you hook em up right..... ...
