Re: Name that Film
It doesn't look as if anyone is going to get this one - it's Gosford Park.
I have hogged this thread too much of late, so I nominate Paul to put the next one up.

Re: Name that Film
It's actually been pretty much a two person thread for the last while (with the occasional guest), so I think we should throw it open to whoever wants to put one up. Any volunteers?

Yes me
I had one in my head after watching this film the other night:
To the lucky person who has never heard it, I can only say: imagine what a brussels sprout would sound like, if a brussels sprout could talk.

Re: Name that Film
A couple of clues: the film was made in 2006, and the quote is about the voice of the film's main character.

I like the quote, but I have no idea of the film...

Re: Name that Film
Jan, I was tempted to come up with an example of tacky English humour by saying, " Brussel sprout? Is it Gone With The Wind? However, that would have been lowering the tone, so instead, is the film a comedy or perhaps a science fiction comedy?

Re: Name that Film
Jill, you've done well by not giving in to temptation
However the film is biographical. Another film about the same subject was made a year earlier, that one was probably better known

Re: Name that Film
Jan, the biographer doesn't sound too enamoured with their subject - perhaps a celebrity, politician or a sports person? Quite a few of them are known for generating copious amounts of ' hot air '.

Re: Name that Film
The main character is a writer, but one that produced plenty of hot air.

Re: Name that Film
A final clue: the cast includes Toby Jones, Sandra Bullock, Daniel Craig, Jeff Daniels, Sigourney Weaver and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Name that Film
It's one of the two movies based on Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Which one though? One was called Capote and one In Cold Blood, I think. I'll guess the latter.

Re: Name that Film
Felton, you're right on all accounts apart from the film's name. However you're close enough to get the next go; the film is called Infamous.

Re: Name that Film
Ah ok! I remember now. It was actually the superior film but as you say not as well known. One of my favourite books as well. I'll have a think about a quote...

Re: Name that Film
Ok, recent movie:
- I thought you said, “Michael Myers.”
- This is Mike Myers.
- It should be the Halloween mask.
- This is a Halloween mask!
- No, the killer dude from Halloween!
- Oh, you mean Jason.
- No!

The only lines I can remember from this film - and it was on TV yesterday I noticed. Spoken by Macauley Culkin to John Candy in Uncle Buck...
