Sounds like "The Green Grass of Home", or something similar.

Re: Name that tune
I figured that wouldn't last too long. If you get a chance, listen to the Jerry Lee Lewis version.

Re: Name that tune
This is Ann's choice. We just heard a version during Yom Kippur services. Here are some lyrics, without the Hebrew!
Worlds are turning and we're just hanging on
Facing our fear and standing out there alone
A yearning, and it's real to me
There must be someone who's feeling for me
Worlds are turning and we're just hanging on
Facing our fear and standing out there alone
A yearning, and it's real to me
There must be someone who's feeling for me

Re: Name that tune
I thought this might be tough.
Here are the opening lines:
Think about it, there must be higher love
Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above
Without it, life is a wasted time
Look inside your heart, I'll look inside mine

It was a bit "out in the open"
"I've been down and I'm wondering why
These little black clouds
Keep walking around with me"

Plummy, I can't remember the song's title but I think that this might be the Stereophonics?

Re: Name that tune
Thank you Plummy - I listened to some of the Stereophonics' music recently on YouTube, when I was comparing their ' Hurry Up And Wait ' with ' Give A Little Bit '. Terrible about noticing or remembering song titles though.
At least that's 50% of the answer - now who can come up with the other half?

Another great live band who I have seen twice, have the cd etc, and I still can't come up with the title.
So I think you can relax Jill!

Re: Name that tune
It was used for the final scene/end credits of one of my favourite films - Crash (that doesn't mean you can Google the film to get the song!!)

I've got the tune, and I think the title has the word "Photograph" in it?

just heard on the radio ...
"Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two"
might get one or two of you thinking ...

I came across the song on Youtube the other day and added it to my playlist so it was fresh in my memory .Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 1:28 pm was it just a well known song (first line), or were you both listening to Ken Bruce as well?
