Let's see if we can speed things up a little.

Singing la la la la ... lala la la
La la la la ... lala la la
La la la la ... lala la la

In his youth, the singer of this song performed with a group who called themselves after a type of lizard. Apparently, the idea for part of his stage name originated from this.

After that last clue it must be Iggy Pop, and now I recognise the song from the lalala
Not entirely sure about the exact title though, is it The messenger?

Oh Sheena! [-X You know that the gentlemen are always right ... [-( Even when they are wrong. ](*,)

Jan, in the interests of marital harmony, I am declaring Sheena the winner ... and that's because she is. :D

Now Jan, take that mulish expression off your face and stop walking away when I'm talking to you ... [-X Jan ... Jan ... Are you listening to me Jan?

Over to you Sheena. :)

How right you are Jill

I must admit that without the mention of Iggy Pop I wouldn't have guessed it, so a joint effort.

I did have to cheer him up with some home baked scones and lemon curd =P~ [-X

I think this might be an easy one:

Funny how those two little letters suddenly put the singer's voice right into my head... after much cogitation, I'm going with:
