Bit more then:
And all I need now is intellectual intercourse
A soul to dig the hole much deeper
And I have no concept of time other than it is flying
If only I could kill the killer

Re: Name that tune
Something by Alanis Morissette maybe?
If it is then the only one I can think of is “ironic” and I don’t think it is that

Re: Name that tune
Only AM song I can think of is "You Oughta Know". I don't recall those lyrics being in there, but then I only remember the non-PC part.

Re: Name that tune
I had endeavoured to pick something family friendly Not You Oughta Know though. I'll leave this hanging until this evening and pop something else up.

To put an end to this one: All I Really Want.
"Separate the fiction from the fact
I've been little slow to react
But it's nearly time to flick the switch
And I'm hanging by a single stitch
Laughing at the stony face of gloom"

Re: Name that tune
Eye off ball - it was Instinct, Crowded House.
A very tangential connection that barely publicised sporting event in Russia:
You're chasing the moon
Reaching out to touch the stars
But you land too soon
What will it take to make you see
The way things really are?
You've got this far
So, let it happen

Re: Name that tune
That was just plain luck and it was only the last two lines that I remembered as I'd heard it in the car whilst out and about.
I had a dream when I was young,
A dream of sweet illusion

As Plummy seems to be suffering from an attack of absentmindedness, thought I'd move this thread along ...

Re: Name that tune
Well done Peter, especially as it was only one line.
With the benefit of hindsight, Plummy's absentmindedness, was probably brought on by ' football fever ' ... I think he might be cured now though ...
Over to you.

Re: Name that tune
I only dip into threads when the forum tells me there have been new posts..er...posted - and it didn't tell me that anyone had posted on here. Oddly, I thought only last it was overdue for a clue and was going to correct that this morning - but it appears everything has moved on anyway so all is good (and you were correct Jill)

Re: Name that tune
Thank you Plummy.
I only jumped the gun, because I was certain it was One Vision - have it on the album, A Kind of Magic.
Although not a follower of ' The Game ', I'm glad that for once, the England side will not be on the receiving end of a verbal bashing from their fans and the press.

Re: Name that tune
It's been a while, will anyone name the tune?
Who knows? It's only just out of reach, down the block, on a beach, under a tree.

Re: Name that tune
Grinding and whirring of my little grey cells ...
Could it be, yes it could
Something is coming, something good
Peter, I read an article recently about Leonard Bernstein and next month's centenary of his birth. Did that perhaps give you the idea for the song title?
