Can Connect to RowPro but not Digital Rowing

Postby billwright » Sun Jul 04, 2010 5:49 pm

I'm trying to connect to the Session Set Up/Online section. I can connect to Oarbits (in RowPro) and open the session list and have previously used this Laptop to connect successfully.

I get the message: "RowPro is unable to connect to the Online Rowing Server. Please try again."

I used the trouble shooter, and when I click the message that says:

Can RowPro connect to http://www.digitalrowing.com?
Yes, RowPro can connect to http://www.digitalrowing.com
No, RowPro cannot connect to http://www.digitalrowing.com

I can't connect and whether I answer Yes or No, nothing happens when I click next.

There is no reaction so I can't proceed any further.

I set up a test session to ensure that I had something available for which I was registered.

Any help appreciated as Saturday 10 July is looming large and want to make sure that I have it right. I've sent an email to RowPro for help but figured someone on here might also know the answer. ^O^

There was a bit of a (vitriolic) debate about this on the UK C2 Forum last month or maybe in May. The short answer from Digital Rowing is: "No!" Mainly because of the cost of writing up the software and the time needed to service another platform. DR are a small company (maybe two or three people) who respond to troubleshooting request very quickly. That response time would be affected I guess if they had to sort two platforms.

Cheers bill, thanks for the reply. I do have rowpro on a old windows laptop so I may give the old thing a go and give u a call.

At the moment I am divided between cycling, rowing and boxing. Anything what keeps the heart beating goes if you know what I mean.

Thanks again

Good luck with RowPro. It's great for competions.

As an aside:

Back on the last century (1930's), the Royal Marines did a tour of duty at Buckingham Palace for ceremonial duties. The King at the time (Edward VII I think), put up a plaque after the duty was complete. It said " Taller men I have seen, but smarter men never!". The Guards covered it up with a sentry box. (Nuff said.)

I agree with Bill. It is great for competitions, but it is also great for finding virtual training partners. Even if you had to buy a basic Windows laptop it would be worth it. Online rowing is very fun. says the obvious addict
