Hope you had a nice meal with the other Diamonds tonight Jill and that everything goes well tomorrow.

I had a productive day in that my erg is now back up and running. Joe Cantillon, who among other things runs the IIRC, offered to put it together for me if I brought it down to his rowing club in Limerick. Not only did he put everything together, he also showed me exactly how to do it and even found time to give me some advice on how to improve my rowing technique. Top bloke!

It was well worth the 250 mile round trip. I was a bit too tired after all the driving to do any erging today (other than the few meters I did on my erg to test everything was OK after Joe fixed it), but hope to get a session in before I head off to the wedding tomorrow.

Having had the rain disrupt gardening plans, dropped in to the gym to attempt a steady 20 minute row and some light weights.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :^o

I spent the weekend in the mountains near Garmisch-Partenkirchen for some hiking. Quite a different kind of training and the glorious weather made it really enjoyable, despite climbing from 700m to 1060m and back :D

Great hike, Peter!

No work so got to play online today - great to see Tako in the GenFit 30 min session.

My goal was to come in past the 7k mark.

Yes, I often join the GenFit session. It is great fun. This time I was exhausted from my Sept CTC attempt, so after a while I decided to take it easy and aim at 7000. Nice to hear that I could work as pace boat ;-)

Last day in Paradise today.

Been in Tenerife for a few weeks, doing eight tenths of naff all (at least exercise-wise) with Paula :-)

Weight might be OK, as I've had lots of fish and few carbs.

Erg power and endurance may have slipped back a bit.

Lots of travelling tomorrow, then catching up at work. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a slow 10k in sometime during the week.

Hasta luego!

After 2 weeks resting my injured back decided it was time to get back on the erg and test it out. I am intending to keep the pace extremely slow and just build up very gradually. Happy to say have not felt any adverse effects so far

Felton is the back issue recurring in the same spot each time? Sorry to hear it's causing you downtime. Gradual return is a good plan.

Yes, it's very frustrating. It's more or less gone but I really don't want to push too hard too soon so will be patient.

How are you coping after 2 days of Crazy Bear Dave?

I am not looking forward to tomorrow, my strategy is to bang out as many as I can in a row before the wheels fall off-did I tell you I have got wheels ?

Maybe we should start a Crazy Bear thread (then again, it is all still "training"). I did my first last night and my second will be tomorrow. My right elbow was quite sore by the end of it and my left has started getting sore too. If they get really bad I may have to back off but as I've been "rowing through the pain" since May I'm not sure it'll stop me completely.

Good fortune with it, Claudius.

Felton, you're inspiring me to lower my rate further on steady state and see what happens. Today,

drag 121 rate 15.4 at 55%+ of estimated current 2k Wattage
