Incredibly fast ctc there Guy, well done!
Very strong effort Fred, that one will be hard to beat! The 500s were pretty strong, no way I can get near that. So the only way would be a faster 2k to start with, not a very tempting idea
Enjoy your holiday!

So I had another go at this tonight although I didn‘t have much hope of bettering my score of 12:36.5. The only chance to better my score and probably beat Fred‘s superb time of 12:30.2 was a quicker 2k as I don‘t have the sprinting skills Fred has. This is how it went:
I had to be aggressive on the 2k and hope that I could save that improvement over the following 500m reps. I started out at a 1:50/1:51 pace but realised that I could go a tad quicker. So I thought „what the heck“ and sped up to 1:49 pace for the second half of that 2k, finishing only 7 seconds out of my SB. The following 500m were a nightmare and so was the final rep. But in the end I saved my progress from the 2k (and a bit more) for a final time of 12:28.3 and a (temporary) seat in FS II. Sorry Fred and thank you for your target whitout which I‘d never have tried another go

Guy, well done on a fantastic result.
As time is rapidly running out this month I thought I'd better get on with it. I managed to resist the temptation to push for a sub 7 time towards the end of the 2k. This allowed something to be left in the tank for the 500s which were better than expected. As others have said the 2 and 3 mins rest are very welcome! Very pleasantly surprised by the time of 12:03.3. Apologies Claudius.

I underestimated this one a bit...particularly the 500's!
Pleased with effort and results so the pain was worth it.
Lots of great rows by the Free Spirits!

Well done Dan. That first 2k is worth a seat in boat 1

Great row Dan. The lovely Jennifer also did the challenge today and I see that we now have 5 boats floating, compared to 2 yesterday! Well done and many thanks to Jane, Jennifer and Jill.
