Very nice score Dave, especially after your long time off the erg. The food on the cruise must have been excellent and plenty

Yes Peter, well done, that was also my plan on the first go, but today on fresh legs i thought the 2k should be a sub7...and do not worry about the 500m...the first 50m really hurts
I dont think about a 3rd go...just looking for longer continuous sessions 30-60min...Have a nice row on this one !...and i am still in love with repdigits

Looks like it! Make sure you do a good job and put your score out of sight of my capabilities (so I don't need to worry about doing it again)

Thanks Claudius! Starting the session with a sub 7 2k is really brave, but you managed to survive it and scored a great overall time, well done!
Interesting and entertaining battle between Ian and Dave there. Dave, I think 5 seconds is just not far enough away to not have a second try
I had my second go last night to better my time of 12:40.3. I was a bit annoyed that I didnt' manage to go sub 12:40 and also Ralf, Fred and Felton were 0.7, 1.6 and 4.1 seconds ahead, enough incentive for me to try catching them. Plan was simply to beat my previous time in every rep. This is how it went:
So an improvement by 3.8 seconds which I'm very happy with. This went much better than expected, in fact I had been dreading this session a bit. Nevertheless I was able to sneak past Ralf and Fred and am now only 0.3 seconds behind Felton. I do know that you guys will reestablish the appropriate order soon enough, but for now I'm enjoying my seat in FS II

Great stuff! I'm still laughing about Dave beating Ian's first attempt by 0.1 of a second! And Claudius's time is setting the bar pretty high. A sub 7 first 2 k

Vielen Dank Claudius!
After the row I was so exhausted that I first realized how fast it was when entering it into the system. After the sub7 I felt so cooked that the 500meters felt like fighting for survival and slow. I knew I had cut off 15s from my previous attempt with the fast 2k but my mind tricked me to believe I lost time on each of them. Fortunately it turned out well

Thanks Max!
Yes, it really pays off, although my body and motivation now seem to say that it was enough for the season, let’s have a break and start the new season with an HM and FM during the C2 Marathon Challenge
As I reached my season goals I guess some rest is allowed unless someone comes and forces me do try the C2CTC once more by kicking me out off the boat....

I've been attempting to encourage entrants at my gym, but strangely the haggard look in my face after I demonstrated this particular CTC may not have helped.

Amazing what sitting on shore can do for motivation. I really didn't want to do this again, but I thought I might be able to get close to Paul ...
Set out with a target of 7:30 for the 2k, and see if I could hang on for the 500s
2k - 7:28.0 / 52.0 / 28
500 - 1:44.6 / 32
500 - 1:43.8 / 31
500 - 1:42.2 / 33
Total of 12:38.6 and an improvement of 17s on last time, which I put down to 4 days skiing at the weekend firming my legs up.
Jumped a few seats (sorry Fred for the 0.1 ) but still on dry land.

I also decided to have a go at this challenge. Target was to hit 1:51 pace for the 2k and then see what I could do in the 500s. I found the whole thing quite tough, but I managed to improve my previous score by over 9 seconds. I now find myself in the third seat in boat three, on the same time as Fred and 0.1 second behind you Steve.Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 1:30 pm Amazing what sitting on shore can do for motivation. I've been working on long steady distance in advance of a sponsored marathon row I'm doing for The Brain Tumour Charity next month so last nights contribution was a truly horrible shock to the system. I'd forgotten just how long a 500m can be !

Not as impressive as Guy, but I managed to improve my time by about 8 seconds. It's 12:30.2 now. Every rep faster than the corresponding one in my previous attempt. There have also been a couple of failed attempts, but anyway, almost end of the month, tomorrow I'm going on holiday so this is it for me.
