Sorry to hear about your back problems Dan. If your wife has to help you with your socks it must be really bad, so just don‘t overdo it. You wouldn‘t be the first Free Spirit with increased back problems due to too much rowing too soon... But thanks for the comitment and a fine effort
Have you registered your time yet, because I can‘t see it on the ctc board?

Thanks for the motivation Peter, Paul & others.Grobi wrote:Both!
Although the tank was pretty empty after a new PB of 6:55.0 for the 2k in the IRL I felt the pressure to go for the C2CTC once more as well. Happy I did
Managed to improve time by 9.1sec and hence climbing one seat ahead. The others are still out of reach though, well done!
Sorry to push you down one seat Paul. Not my style normally to attack a “defenceless” person, but I hope your Erg is soon fit for fight again!

There is actually very little difference in our times, so hardly worth going through all that again! (Thanks for being kind to me Morten )mortenhaugseng wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 7:06 pmIt will be hard to challenge your time Jon, mybe I can motivate myself to have another go tomorrow but I seriously doubt I can beat your timeJon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 1:51 pm I'm slowly getting back into the swing of these ctc's (unlike the stalwart members here who have consistently been putting in superb efforts).
I was pleased to be kicked out of a temporary seat last month by Morten and impressed with Erik's significant improvement (in his signature style of repetitive efforts). So there'll probably be a repeat of play this month (I hope) with further challenges from haaico, Erik and Morten. I'm not sure whether I'll get another chance at this, but I might be tempted if I'm booted out of the seat again!
I've trained hard for the last 7 days, so really it was a rest day forecast today... so I thought the c2c was short
7:20.4 2250m 1:37.8 33
1:34.6 500m 1:34.6 32 163 (rest HR 141)
4:10.7 1250m 1:40.2 33 171 (rest HR 140)
1:35.1 500m 1:35.1 35 171
No surprises the second interval is the toughest. Target pace was 1:38 - 1:39, but I soon saw 1:40-1:42 creeping in
I'd based the target pace for the 500m on having been recently around 1:33 for 8*1'/1'r
Perhaps the next go, I'll go a little easier on the first rep, and set a harder score on the second... or just go with the same plan but with MTFU
Good luck to those attempting in the last few days of the month
They seem like similar challenges, January and February.

Had another go at this yesterday afternoon. Managed to improve by 6.7 seconds and moved up from boat 6 to boat 5. As with my previous attempt, my final 500m was slower than my first 500m, which shows I had nothing left in the tank.
Splits were as follows:
Split Time Pace Rating Heart Rate
500 1:44.5 1:44.5 35 154
1250 4:36.8 1:50.7 37 169
500 1:44.8 1:44.8 40 172
2250 8:06.2 1:48.0 37 165

Had a last minute go last night with a slight improvement of 2.8 seconds over my first attempt:
The 1250m were faster than the first 500m, so maybe I lost a bit there, nevertheless happy with the progress

Fantastic effort, Tako, on both the 2k and the CTC .Tako wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:21 pmThanks for the motivation Peter, Paul & others.Grobi wrote:Both!

Thanks to Concept2 UK's superb customer service, I have no excuse to fall back on any more - 24hrs after ordering a new flywheel the part arrived at my door on the Isle Of Wight(not the easiest place to get to) - I was told it would be 3 to 5 working days.
Having said that, your 6:55 2k is way too good for me, as is your CTC effort - well done!!
Well done to all the other CTC posters this month - it has been a strong FS showing.
