Entirely up to you! For comparison purposes, I did the challenge today and finished in 1:36.4. Unlike you, I got slower as I went along, although I did manage a slight final sprint which indicates that I too probably need to have another go! For the record, my splits were as follows:

Distance Time Rating
100 19.0 38
200 19.0 41
300 19.3 44
400 19.7 40
500 19.6 43

500 1:36.4 41

I decided to have another go today, but at a higher DF - 160 instead of my usual 130 to 135. Big mistake! I got a twinge in my lower back around the 200m mark and stopped rowing a couple of strokes later. My back is now very sore and I'm self-medicating with Nurofen Plus and white wine before heading out to dinner. I hope I haven't done any serious damage.

All the best Paul!

Alan, Felton, Barbara and Chuck we need at least 2 more entries!!!
Come on!! It only takes 1:40

We are currently at 7th place but I am sure that won’t last if we cannot get 8 results!!

My entry was a bit lame - sorry. I'm chasing 2.5 million for the season and the 13 days off with no C2 impacted my potential total greatly so I'm doing more metres than average and having to row pretty much everyday for 10 days until Monday to hit my target. My 500 was done after 12km of rowing on my 5th or 6th consecutive day with no rest, so was a pretty fatigued effort.

Really out of shape at the moment and overweight (although maybe that extra mass helps this distance a little) but managed a respectable 1:32.6 Image

Well done all! We now have seven results, including a rather humble effort of mine:

All went well until 100m to go when I ran out power. Nevertheless that's a new SB by 0.4 seconds :D Might have another go over the weekend with a higher df.

Be careful! I tried that a few days ago and nearly crocked my back. Thankfully, it was just temporary, but I'm going to be a lot more careful about increasing DF from now on.

It's the final day of the season and also the final day of the IRL. As of now we have seven entries for the April 500m. If we could get an eight entry that would be great, it would help to make sure a spot in the top 10 of the team ranking :fswink:

Thanks to a last minute entry by Barbara we managed to secure ninth position in the team score. Well done team and let's see what the next IRL will provide us.
