Re: Nonathlon 2018
haha, for the moment I think you are safe nonathlon-wise.
I'm more worried about your progress on the metreboard at the moment Tony, but it's providing me with some good motivation to keep ahead for now.
For those not in the know, Tony (avail) is a workmate of mine who I recently invited to join our team.
Looks like he's off to a good start with over 61k rowed in the 5 days since joining us and a place in FS1 on the CTC.

Re: Nonathlon 2018
Well Gregor, it was a pitiful performance today. After a warm up and several false starts (and final what-the-hell effort) attempting to maintain 22 strokes/min for the C2C I well and truly spangled myself and had to cut the meters short. The 26 & 30 strokes are 'ok' but who the heck devised 22 strokes/min?!?!?! Finally made some headway by stumbling upon a track by Sabbath that works for 22/min.

Re: Nonathlon 2018
Having done 30 minutes yesterday, I entered pro rated times for 5 k and 6k and I've updated the table below. Due to the crazy anomaly that exists in the 30 minute nonathlon targets for MHWT rowers over age 60, my score for the 6k was 8 points higher than my score for 30 minutes (based on the exact same pace), while my score for 5k was only 1 point lower.

I was keen to try to log a half marathon yesterday, but time was against me so I logged a 60 minute time instead.

Re: Nonathlon 2018
Gym was very quiet this morning so I attempted the HM - knocked 27 seconds off my target time, and my pace was inside my hour pace of a week ago.....

Re: Nonathlon 2018
Congratulations Ian.
If you haven't already done so, you can update your hour entry to reflect the faster pace you did for the HM. This is explicitly allowed within the rules and something I have always done, although usually I end up setting a faster time for the shorter distance at some stage in the season.
I'm hoping to do an hour sometime over the next couple of weeks do that I can enter scores for the hour and for 10k.

Re: Nonathlon 2018
Nice work Ian. Paul's suggestion is sound - but surely you'd prefer to knock out that standalone hour and bag even more points...

Re: Nonathlon 2018
I logged a 1 hour time yesterday - 14122. I determined that holding the rate at 22 ish and the pace at 2.07 would be a good line in the sand: in the end that's how it turned out and it felt broadly ok.
My plan is now to get the 2km and 6km times in the 820s. The latter should be doable, the former might be a little more of a challenge....
