I have to admit that this month's ctc really isn't my cup of tea. I have been busy eating meters for the WEC which seems to have impacted my (already poor) sprinting ability. After a first go early in April which I couldn't finish I had my second attempt a week ago which resulted in 6:32.
Easter sunday I tried again and could improve my score slightly:
177 / 1:45.3 / 32
177 / 1:43.9 / 33
177 / 1:43.9 / 31
777 / 1:47.7 / 30
177 / 1:43.3 / 33
177 / 1:42.5 / 35
177 / 1:41.1 / 35
Total: 6:27.0 / 1:45.2 / 32
There's no way I can beat you guys Alan, Dave, Steve and Joe this month. But I'll have one (or more) goes at this, don't count your chickens before they're hatched
Steve, really sorry to hear about your back problems. Hope you're on the mend soon!

Re: April ctc - The Sub 7 Sprint Spike
A well done everyone, normally i would say i do like sprints...but i am preparing for longer distances, as in fact i recently rowed my first half-marathon on the c2rower. As Peter i decided to made a go on easter sunday. My target was a sub 1:40 pace and it went well, really surprised that my last rep was the quickest...

Well done Peter =D>
It is so rare that I manage to beat you on the CTC these days I will not rest on my laurels and may try this again one more time to make it even harder for you
I noticed your meter munching on the WRC-well done =D>
Claudius-very well done I can only dream of such times =D>

Alan, did you have anothe rgo in the meantime?strider77 wrote:I will not rest on my laurels and may try this again one more time to make it even harder for you
I had my third and last attempt last night. Plan was simply to beat my old time of 6:27.0, this is how it went:
177 / 1:44.5 / 34
177 / 1:42.5 / 33
177 / 1:42.2 / 33
777 / 1:46.2 / 31
177 / 1:42.5 / 33
177 / 1:41.4 / 35
177 / 1:39.1 / 36
Total: 6:21.9 / 1:43.8 / 33
Fairly happy with an improvement of 5.1 seconds, although it's by far not good enough to be anywhere near Alan's, Steve's or Joe's score. But at least I could beat Dave

I persuaded the lovely Jennifer to do the CTC today. She was just home from a long walk but, being the obliging creature that she is, she hopped on and completed it in 9:30.8.
I think started to feel guilty that I hadn't done it so, back problems notwithstanding, I also had a go. I didn't push it too hard, but was still tired enough at the end to not feel like doing a cool down. I finished in 6:40.8.
Now I'm going to watch Spurs (hopefully) beat Arsenal in the North London Derby. [-o<
