Re: FS Sweat protection option
Just back from a little holiday in Wales to find a couple of these Halo headbands to try
I ordered the bandana type before all of the discussion re head sizes and the "one size fits all" issue. I'll report back later on as to how well I think that they work after my 30r20 with Laurence in about an hour.
My first impressions are that they certainly fit snuggly on my rather large head but not uncomfortably (at least for a couple of minutes). Jacqueline, on the other hand has a very small head. On her they sit very comfortably, not loose enough to fall off but certainly not at all tight. I'll get her to wear one during her turbo session this evening to see if the headband fits tightly enough to actually work.
Should be a good test of extreme sizes as I don't know anyone with a bigger skull than mine or a smaller one than Jac's
I ordered a pink one, a dark blue one and a white one. The pink is very nice IMO and the blue is a pretty similar colour to the FS rowing gear from Godfrey Sports albeit slightly darker.

Re: FS Sweat protection option
OK, here goes.
I gave the bandana style halo band a workout this evening on an 8k 30r20 with Laurence on RP and then another more sedate 30r18.
Plenty sweaty
I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. Even on my huge head the band was comfortable (of course it hasn't been shrunk in the wash yet!) and did a much better job than the towelling ones that I habitually use. Difficult to tell if it stopped all of the sweat from above running down the front of my face as my face sweats lots too Pretty convinced that it diverted most of it and I certainly didn't have stinging eyes. I reckon I mopped my face less too.
Jac has just finished an hour on the turbo trainer wearing one. Being a lady she hardly sweats at all (although she has just wrung out the band in front of me - perhaps she's no lady after all) Yes, it definitely worked well for her too
All in all a very favourable first impression, and it looks like one size of bandana genuinely does fit all (at least when they're new and straight out of the box).

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Glad to hear that the bandana worked for you! I appreciate your great, absolutely scientific review. Especially the lady-test was impressive!
I still like the tie: adjustability; and it nicely channels sweat to my back (T-Shirt) once it is saturated, as compared to the bandana, that has no natural sweat drain.
I'll wait a couple more days, and then order, so that everyone gets a chance to review / redo order based on their beliefs.

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Finally! I think they turned out well. Top color is really purple, then obviously pink, and then the FS blue, which is identical to other FS gear!

Don't know how much as they haven't arrived yet and I haven't settled up with Boris. Hopefully we won't get stung with import duty!

Can I send a cheque? Not too happy with paypal, badly let down by them during an e-bay transaction. PM me your address and I'll get it in the post same day. Cheers

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Well, I am impressed with these head bands. I've worn them on the last few sessions and have not had any of the usual sweat in the eyes problems. I got the tie type and the sweat seems to all collect in the tails and drip down onto my back. the kids seem to like the look too - said I looked like a rowing pirate or something...
Thanks for organizing this Boris and Lee !!!

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Where are the headbands?
I just got off the phone with USPS. Since I did not put a tracking number on it , they can't track by custom number. They got mailed on Dec. 24th. The representative of the temple of postal workers said it'd take 8-10 business days, which makes it end of last week (since we had all those holidays). So I will give sacrificial offerings along with a couple of spells to the appropriate goddess in US Postal Service, which usually helps. Next time with a parcel carrier!

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Ok guys 'n' gals, Boris's sacrificial offerings to the mail gods obviously worked as the headbands arrived yesterday (yes, on a Sunday in the UK!).
The courier said that there had been a bit of a "back log" over Christmas and the New Year
I must say that they do look very good
I haven't quite got a price for you all as yet, as I'm not sure what I owe Boris for the merchandise and postage so far, but will let you know as soon as I do. I guess that I'll be in a position to post them out to you later in the week. In the meantime, I'd be grateful if all of you who have already ordered could PM me with your delivery addresses of choice. Postage at this end looks like it's going to be £1.65 for 1st class recorded delivery. (With no tracking at all, the cheapest postage for the smallest order would be £0.61 1st, or £0.47 2nd class for 1 or 2 items, and £0.90 and £0.76 for 3 headbands).
Unless you have any objections (PM me) I plan to stick to the £1.65 recorded delivery for all orders.
I'm quite happy to sort out payment later as I'm sure that you're all "good for it" PayPal, personal cheque, cash all gratefully accepted. Pay me in Manchester if you like too.
Boris has kindly included a few spares (mainly blue tie type but some pink ties) should anyone wish to increase their order or place a last minute one on a first come, first served basis.
